Data Source & Verification
Data in the UK is obtained from three main sources; companies house, BT and Royal Mail. Our verification process involves stringent checks and validations with all three of these sources to verify new contacts, identify and update companies that are dissolved, update change of Directors and other segmentations.
BDP data is validated against Royal Mail for address details, and also checking against recent ‘gone away’ files to ensure accuracy and suppressing any relevant records. Before a contact is added to our base and on a daily basis, additional details are verified by our contact centre to validate fields including job titles, position and personal email verification. Email verification is carried out by our in-house system upon ordering and 2-3 days prior to data despatch.
Telephone numbers are verified against BT to ensure the lines are in use; this is the final step in the cycle and all of the verifications above are performed within 2-3 days prior of despatch of the data to our client.
We can filter by many different specifications; our most popular selections are geographically by location, company size/turnover, number of employees, trade or industry (via SIC Codes), or job title, but we do have more selections available.

The data remains the intellectual property of BDP throughout the license and the agreement allows our clients to use it in relation to the agreed purpose. The license does not permit the data to be transferred to any third party, and when the license ends the data should be deleted from the client’s servers to ensure that BDP can accurately record where the data is held and being processed. These terms enable us to comply with data protection laws and the GDPR, and therefore provide peace of mind for our clients to know that they are compliant too.
